The article mainly praises the relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, but also in one paragraph mentions the xenophobic attacks of Kazakh nationalists.

“Unfortunately, recently we have witnessed a number of high-profile manifestations of xenophobia against Russian-speaking citizens of Kazakhstan. Individual cases are largely the product of the use of special information techniques from outside, aimed at cultivating local nationalism and discrediting cooperation with Russia,” Lavrov believes.

According to him, the level of bilateral relations allows for promptly taking joint measures in each alarming case, for which direct communication channels are used through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, law enforcement and justice agencies, as well as presidential administrations.

“The Russian-speaking community in Kazakhstan and the Kazakh community in Russia serve as powerful links. Both sides understand perfectly how important the unifying mission of the Russian language is. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian language is given official status and is used on an equal basis with Kazakh. I see this as a huge plus for Kazakh youth, who connect their lives and work with Russia and the CIS as a whole,” notes the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

He also promised that Russia will continue to provide multifaceted support to schools, professional and higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan that train teachers and specialists with knowledge of the Russian language.

“Looking back at the historical path traveled by our peoples, we can say with confidence that strategic partnership and alliance, the development of integration processes most optimally meet the long-term interests of Russia and Kazakhstan. They serve as a reliable foundation for strengthening relations of good neighborliness and shared prosperity,” Lavrov concluded.

As PolitNavigator reported, Russophobia in Kazakhstan is reaching the state level.

Furthermore, Margarita Lyange, Deputy Chair of the Commission for the Harmonization of Interethnic Relations of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, acknowledged that instances of Kazakh nationalism and Russophobia have noticeably increased in Kazakhstan.
