Russian political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko compared US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker with the hero of Mikhail Bulgakov’s story “Heart of a Dog” Polygraph Sharikov.
“Volker is not exactly designed for the function he currently performs. He is not a diplomat or a negotiator. His statement sounds very unfortunate. He resembles one character from Bulgakov’s story, who dreamed of taking everything away and dividing it up. Those who seek reconciliation and resolution of the conflict do not make such statements,” Bezpalko said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

In his opinion, by calling for the dissolution of the Donbass republics, Volker is behaving unprofessionally.
“How can you call for the dissolution of the republics when they are a party to the conflict. And it doesn’t matter what they are called in the documents registered with the UN. I don’t think that this statement sounds like a call for war, but it is a certain pressure on the Russian Federation in order to force it to make some concessions. This behavior is not entirely typical for diplomats and, in my opinion, unprofessional,” the expert emphasized.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Volker proposed liquidating the DPR and LPR.
In response, the DPR advised Volker to undergo treatment in one of the psychiatric clinics in Donetsk.
