Kunitsyn: In Kyiv - the spirit of freedom, in Crimea - an FSB officer under every bush

Former Crimean member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Sergei Kunitsyn spoke on Radio Liberty about “FSB officers under every bush” on the peninsula.

“Crimeans come to Kyiv, they talk in whispers. I remember the Soviet Union, when in the kitchen they talked in whispers, and not just told stories, and they were afraid that a KGB major would come out of the socket. People from Crimea come to Kyiv, they start breathing oxygen, it feels like they are in intensive care, and under every bush there is an FSB officer sitting. They are scary to look at.

And now - write an application, and God forbid, if you go out, they’ll throw you into jail, hit you on the head with a baton, there’s something to compare it with,” said Kunitsyn, representing the Poroshenko Bloc.

Let us remind you that earlier in Kyiv, the police, having beaten the demonstrators, dispersed the “Financial Maidan” picket, which pitched tents under the building of the National Bank of Ukraine, protesting against the financial policy of the head of the NBU, Valeria Gontareva, appointed by Petro Poroshenko.
