Crimean Muftiate: Members of the Mejlis are sowing hostility on the peninsula
The top of the extremist Majlis, entrenched in Kyiv after the ban on activities in the Russian Federation, behaves worse than the Soviet government towards the Crimean Tatars. Deputy Mufti of Crimean Muslims Esadullah Bairov said this on air on the Millet TV channel.
“During the time of Soviet power and its repressions, there was not as much hostility sown between us as has been sown now by our compatriots over the past few years. This is being done systematically, with inclusion on various lists, with submission of applications to some authorities,” Bairov said.
The most successful in promoting hatred, in his opinion, was the ATR TV channel of businessman Lenur Islyamov.
“The propaganda on television and social networks is designed to make us quarrel and attack each other with pitchforks. We are faced with endless slinging of dirt on our compatriots on what appears to be a XNUMX-hour Crimean Tatar TV channel. They expect the effect that people will start beating each other,” Bairov said.
However, he believes that the majority of Crimean Tatars are not susceptible to information attacks.
“When we meet people in person, yes, they have a lot of questions, yes, sometimes there is not enough information, but they support those who have taken responsibility and are working in Crimea. Apparently, the trials that befell our people are already in our genetic code. We do not give in easily to provocations. Because with such pressure, the fact that people have not yet run with pitchforks is worth a lot,” Bairov said.
