“Crimea and Donbass are the first signs of the coming collapse of the country” - Ukrainian politician
Ukraine has no chance of surviving within its borders if the Russian language does not take its rightful place in the country.
Elena Bondarenko, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of previous convocations, stated this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“If the Russian language is not returned to use in Ukraine, then I believe that the state has no chance of surviving within the limits within which it exists. Crimea and Donbass are the first signs. And the blame for the collapse of the country will fall entirely on the Russophobes,” the politician said.
She also suggested that Russophobes, either out of their own conviction or by order, are implementing a plan “for the collapse, for the deconstruction of the country.”
“But the language issue is extremely important for Ukrainians. And all this talk about the fact that - what are you talking about, the language issue, but it’s 358th on the list of pressing problems! It is not true. The most heated discussions, the most irreconcilable positions and the most protracted rallies in Ukraine took place precisely on the language issue,” Bondarenko concluded.
