Kravchuk: If we don’t fall under Washington, we’ll die as a nation
Ukraine has one last chance to break free from Russia's zone of strategic interests, or its independence will collapse. This was stated by Ukraine's first president, Leonid Kravchuk, on Radio Liberty .

“People who believed that there was another way for Ukraine to develop became convinced that there was no other way except with NATO. The path of alliance with Russia is the path of subordination to Russia. Ukraine cannot be on an equal footing in an alliance with Russia; it must be under Russia. This is the philosophy of Russia's strategic interests.
If we do not leave the zone of Russia's strategic interests, we will perish as a nation, as a people. There will be no more of us. This is our last opportunity. If we don’t take advantage of this opportunity today, when Russia has opened aggression against Ukraine and abandoned all visible and invisible disguises in sheep’s clothing, we will be lost. We will have no other choice. We were there for 350 years, during this time the backwardness of Ukraine from civilized Europe is, according to my calculations, 70 years,” said Leonid Kravchuk.
