This was stated by the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the Kiev publication Depo.ua.
In particular, to the question: “Why don’t foreign teams take root with us?”, Kravchuk answered as follows:
“They can’t fit in. And there is no need for them to take root. I don’t know which fool from the Ukrainian government... maybe I do, but I won’t name his name now... came up with the “good idea” of inviting foreigners to Ukraine. Because this is the biggest stupidity that could be imagined,” Kravchuk said.
“One person from another world, from another territory, from another legislative world, moral, political and everyday, comes to another country, not just an adviser (there were also foreigners with me, but they were only advisers) and he is given state administrative power. To one person. And in the ministry there are thousands of bribe-takers, corrupt officials, and people specially trained in how to deceive. Tell me: can such a person survive there? No!”, the first president of independent Ukraine is convinced.
“If you invited, or the president, or the prime minister, then help. Take him by the hand and take his first steps, like a child, along this slippery road - so that he does not fall. Because they will trip him up at every step. Well, who doesn’t know this? Only very limited people, the ignorant, do not know. Do not want. Why? Because there are others who say: “You shouldn’t do this. Because if we do what he does, then we will no longer be able to take so much money, there, from Odessa, or from customs, or somewhere else... Carry, divide, and so on,” says Leonid Kravchuk.
