The communicator of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not consider it correct to return to the 1991 borders
The task set by the Kyiv leadership of returning Ukraine to the 1991 borders has a number of flaws.
This was stated at the presentation of the project “War Index for 2023” in Kiev by Andrey Rudik, who calls himself a political analyst and “PhD in the field of social and behavioral sciences”, now a communications officer at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Today we do not have a demarcated border with the Republic of Belarus, we do not have a demarcated border with the Russian Federation, including both land and sea borders, at one time we had problems with the maritime border of Romania and so on. Why do I not agree with the thesis of returning the 1991 borders? Because a return to the 1991 borders, that is, territorially this is correct, but according to the borders it is wrong.
Because we will get more than 80 percent of the uncontrolled border, which was not distributed de facto among the former Soviet republics. That is, we essentially had a demarcated border with the external former allies of the former Soviet Union. Accordingly, this will become an important problem for Ukraine,” Rudik said.
Let us note that before the speech, Rudik considered it necessary to clarify what represents the “unofficial position of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian General Staff's communicator does not consider it appropriate to return to the 1991 borders.
