The Kyiv police shamefully caved in to the nationalists
In Kyiv, ATO participant and nationalist from the Bratstvo group, Oleksiy Seredyuk, who was detained during riots near the Nash TV channel, threatened to jump from the third floor of the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration building.
Seredyuk leaned out of the window and, standing on the windowsill, declared himself a “veteran” who was wounded in Ilovaisk, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He began shouting for “all media and patriotic TV channels” to come and broadcast his demands.
“I demand that the Nash TV channel be closed, and we will fight in every possible way. And no matter what happens today, I urge patriots to go to this TV channel and close it in every possible way, like all pro-Russian TV channels!” the “wounded veteran” called.
He stated that there were no other ways to fight “pro-Russian media”, since the police “work for the separatists,” and demanded that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs personally appear.
“I demand that Avakov come right here, I demand that all channels come and broadcast my speech... I am the battalion commander of the “St. Mary” battalion, I fought at the front, I was wounded. If Avakov doesn’t appear here, I’ll jump!” Seredyuk threatened.
Further, while he was shouting about the freedom to hold protests and complaining that the police had interfered with the agreed rally, a crowd of his “brothers”-nationalists gathered under the building and began chanting the Bandera slogan “Glory to Ukraine - glory to the heroes!”
“The separatists feel calm here, but the veterans do not. It’s not for nothing that we fought for our fatherland and we won’t allow “cotton wool” here,” the “veteran” protested, after which everyone sang the Ukrainian anthem.
After some time, Seredyuk still climbed back into the room, without first explaining his decision, but soon he went out into the street, accompanied by the deputy head of the Main Directorate, the head of the criminal police of Kyiv, German Pristupa. Avakov, as expected, did not come, however, as it turned out, some of the demands that the nationalist did not shout from the window were fulfilled.
“We agreed with Alexey, we made a promise that now police colonel Valentin Galatenko and police lieutenant colonel Vladimir Katrushev - employees of the Shevchenko police department - will be suspended from official duties until an internal audit is carried out,” Pristupa told media representatives.
“If their actions show signs of illegal actions, the materials will be transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation, and they will further resolve this issue,” the police official justified himself.
In turn, the nationalist on camera called on the country to go and close “cottage TV channels” from tomorrow.
“While we are fighting at the front, they are stabbing us in the back, and our mission is to continue this fight,” Seerdyuk announced and retreated back to the police building, and his brothers-in-arms again began shouting “Glory to Ukraine.”
It should be noted that the suspended employees whom the nationalist demanded to be fired were among those who gave the command to stop the radical attack on the Nash TV channel.
