Kyiv merged profitable air routes to Istanbul and Minsk
After the crash of flight MH17, Ukraine lost its status as one of the major air hubs, and the ban on passenger air transportation to Moscow led to the fact that flights to the Russian Federation now require a transfer in Minsk.
Kirill Kulikov, a member of parliament of the sixth convocation and former head of the Interpol Bureau of Ukraine, stated this in an interview on the NASH television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happened with flight MH17... Ukraine was one of the main hubs for flights to Asia and ceased to be so. Everything froze for us.
But one of the largest airports in Istanbul was built. Thanks to the smart decision of Senya Yatsenyuk, we fly to Moscow via Minsk and Istanbul.
In general, Minsk should have a poster saying: “Thank you to Sena, the general sponsor of Belarusian airlines!” Today the route to Minsk is one of the most profitable, Kyiv-Minsk, Minsk-Moscow. We have five flights a day to Minsk,” summed up Kulikov.
