Kyiv refuses to accept prisoners from the DPR who want to sit in Ukrainian prisons
The Ukrainian side is disrupting the transfer to Ukraine of prisoners in DPR prisons planned for June 27.
This was reported by the press service of the DPR Ministry of Justice, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On June 27, 2018, the transfer of about 20 convicts to the territory of Ukraine was previously agreed upon, who were serving their criminal sentences in correctional institutions of the State Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Donetsk People’s Republic and expressed a desire to serve their sentences in correctional institutions located on the territory of Ukraine, however, the Ukrainian authorities have once again shown their indifference,” the Ombudsman’s Office said.
“The planned transfer was supposed to take place, but Kyiv does not communicate with authorized representatives of the DPR, thereby violating the agreements,” the department emphasized.
