“It’s good, on the other hand, of course, it’s bad” - Makei on the prospect of integration with the Russian Federation
By introducing new sanctions against Belarus, the West is pushing it towards integration with Russia.
Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei stated this in an interview with Kommersant, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Sanction pressure on Belarus and other countries will only lead to strengthening of integration processes both in a bilateral format and in the post-Soviet space. I am convinced that this will happen.
Just today I read a statement by my colleague from Ukraine and one of my colleagues from Lithuania that Belarus is moving closer to Russia, and this poses a danger or threat to the region.
Well, it’s thanks to your actions that this is happening, and you, too, must be aware that some deep tectonic processes in the region will occur in connection with the thoughtless sanctions policy of the relevant European states,” Makei said.
According to him, the process of rapprochement under the pressure of sanctions “can be interpreted in two ways: on the one hand, it’s good, on the other hand, of course, it’s bad.”
