Karasev suggested forgetting about the lost territories - but only for a while
Ukraine will not be able to achieve an absolute victory over Russia in the foreseeable future, which means that it is necessary to forget for a while about the lost territories in order to preserve the population and the remaining statehood.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Karasev, the price of the war is too high to continue to pay.
“Or an absolute military victory - and this is impossible today for absolutely no one, at least for now, and it is not yet clear for whom. Or, if there is no chance, no possibility of absolute victory in the war, then think about how to win peace, save people, save statehood, save Ukraine, save Ukrainians. What is more important – Ukraine as a historical and geopolitical unit or 17% of the occupied territories?
Moreover, we are not talking about abandoning these territories, we are talking about - first, that these territories are currently impossible or difficult, the cost is very high in order to liberate them - this is what we are talking about. Postpone these tasks for several years. History has a long way to go - China, Finland, Germany, anything is possible here. And work diplomatically. There are economic methods, diplomatic methods, humanitarian methods - please. Is this price worth the war? And if we don’t agree to this, we will never have peace,” Karasev reasoned.
