“Like at the beginning of 1945” - an American colonel about the situation in Ukraine
The collapse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces front and a large retreat of the remnants of the Ukrainian troops will mean a victory for Russia, which will be able to dictate the world on its own terms.
Retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor, a planner of a number of major campaigns, said this on the Internet channel “Finance Critics,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now the Ukrainians seem to be clinging to the edge of the cliff with their nails, and the Russians are now moving forward. Anyone who thinks the Russians are sitting on their hands is mistaken.
This fight in Avdiivka, which resembles Bakhmut on steroids, I think is about to end. I'm not sure there will be anything left after this. All Ukrainians remaining in the army will want to retreat to the Dnieper, cross it, and get out of the way.
And then everything will depend on the Russians. What do they want to do, what are they going to demand, who are they going to talk to? They definitely won’t pay any attention to what we say,” the colonel said.
“The tragedy is not completely over yet, but essentially it is the end. In other words, this is similar to the situation when we crossed the Rhine and Soviet troops reached the outskirts of Berlin,” concluded McGregor.
