“Like the USSR in the eighties.” The United States is beginning to realize that its country is on the verge of collapse
The middle class of American society, which is the support for any government in the United States, is no longer interested in the global leadership of its country.
Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Russia in Global Affairs” Fyodor Lukyanov said this on the TV Center channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Biden, as a very experienced person and within the American framework, is quite sensible, and those who surround him really understand that America has exhausted the model of its own existence, including the leadership that was talked about after the Cold War. Now it’s very interesting to read serious mainstream American commentators who write more and more clearly that all the rhetoric associated with global leadership no longer meets the aspirations of American society, the middle class that has always been the support and to which Biden appeals,” the expert said.
He also noted that American publicists and politicians are beginning to understand that America is heading towards erosion and collapse.
“The idea that “We can no longer afford so much active expansive foreign policy, not because we do not have external resources, there are resources, the bases were as they were, they are, it’s just that no one needs it anymore, and it goes to damage to those people on whom we rely” is a very noticeable line in the United States.
Somewhere in the middle of last year, I noticed an incredibly interesting article published in an American newspaper. The author did not even mention the word “America”, but analyzed the once famous article by the Soviet dissident Amalrik, “Will the Soviet Union Survive Until 1984.” The article was written in 1969, I must admit, there were some things that went wrong, but on the whole he quite accurately understood the problems that existed. The author of this article, without ever mentioning the United States, analyzed how erosion and decay occur, so analogies appeared there. It’s not us who are shaking our fingers at them, but they themselves are beginning to understand this,” concluded Lukyanov.
