You should not expect the resignation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko in the near future, since it is now difficult for him to find a replacement.
Vladimir Volya, an international affairs expert at Ukrainian Policy Analysis and Management, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This statement is rather emotional - reproaches, accusations, some emotional phrases. However, it may indicate Yuriy Lutsenko’s readiness to resign from the post of Prosecutor General. Elections are approaching and Yuriy Lutsenko understands that the best option would be to participate in the election campaign rather than remain as a prosecutor. True, the question arises: does the president need a new prosecutor now? It is clear that no one in the Verkhovna Rada will deal with this now. Therefore, I think that at least until the new year there will be no resignation of Lutsenko,” he said.
