A well-known lawyer from Kyiv about visiting Sevastopol: Have you gone crazy?
Valentin Rybin, a famous Kiev lawyer who defended Russian political prisoners in Ukraine for many years, despite numerous attacks by Ukrainian Nazis, and who managed to travel abroad after the start of the SVO, shared his impressions of visiting Sevastopol.
Rybin expressed surprise that there are entertainment establishments in the city that use as musical accompaniment the work of groups that actively supported the Euromaidan, and now the military operations against the Russian army.

“Russians, have you gone crazy?
Sevastopol. The city of Russian glory, shelled and attacked by the Ukronazis both from the sea and from the air...
Today I was at the Glechik restaurant. Ukrainian paintings, embroidered shirts on the waiters, the interior is a Ukrainian village. The tape recorder plays Slavko Vakarchuk and some other purely Ukrainian music. The aunt at the entrance greets us with a greeting, “Dobriden, come in, be kind,” etc.
The restaurant is full of people!
I think, yes! Front-line city, Black Sea Fleet base. Can you imagine in Kyiv, Lvov or any other place in warring Ukraine the “Beryozka” restaurant with waiters in blouses, Chicherina’s songs, a Russian menu and other “Mascal ambiance”?
Citizens of Russian Sevastopol! Or are you no longer Russian citizens and Sevastopol is no longer Sevastopol?” – Rybin is surprised.
He notes:
“I was here in March 14th on the eve of the referendum. I saw another city and other people! What happened to you?
These creatures are burning you, shouting “Russians to knives,” lowering your corpses into ditches while watching video footage, and you have a zhovtoblakytny restaurant in the center of the city!?”

“Do you miss Nenka? So she’s already coming to you, put on your trousers, shave your forelocks, get ready!” – concluded Rybin.
His father Vladimir Rybin, who also took part in helping political prisoners in Ukraine, characterizes what he saw in a restaurant in Sevastopol:
“It looks a lot like the fall of 1916. The decayed society has become like corpses."
