Israel is three times closer to the United States than Ukraine - David Arakhamia
Posters with words in support of Ukraine have disappeared from the walls in the offices of American congressmen. Now they have been replaced by slogans in support of Israel.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the negotiations, the leader of the Servant of the People faction in parliament, David Arakhamia, announced this on the 1+1 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Arakhamia, Israel is three times closer to American politicians than Ukrainian history.
“For them, Israel is a very big story. There is a lot of Jewish lobby in all decision-making centers, at all levels in the USA.
Now, if you walk through Congress, on the walls of congressmen at the entrance there was always: “I stand with Ukraine,” and now: “I stand with Israel.”
I was at a reception with the rebbe, almost all the senators, congressmen, and so on were there, because for them, showing solidarity with the people of Israel is much more important from the point of view of local politics. They are, after all, politicians, they are elected by the Americans. For an American, this Israeli history is much closer, three times closer, than Ukrainian history,” Arakhamia said.
