Ukraine is being molded into one big Galicia - academician
The big mistake of the Ukrainian government is that they are building Ukraine from Galicia, and not based on general Ukrainian values.
The honorary director of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, historian Pyotr Tolochko, stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we do not have such a monolithic Ukrainian nation as it was in Soviet times. Today we have a conglomerate, and it is not based on the values of the whole of Ukraine, but on the values of one region of Galicia.
Now in Ukraine everything is Galician. Galician heroes are named after them: streets, squares and avenues. Shchors is thrown out of the pantheon of Ukrainian heroes, while Konovalets and Bandera are included. This is a big mistake at the level of our government,” the historian said.
As a reminder, Vladimir Granovsky previously stated that nationalists from Western Ukraine are free to come to Kyiv and do whatever they please – tear down monuments, kill undesirables – while residents of the capital of the "independent" state are too "tolerant" to resist the newcomers.
