The bitter truth about the retreat from Kherson was reported from Donetsk
The founder of the Vostok Battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, confirmed information from the Ukrainian side that after the capture of Kherson without a fight, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have freed up a large group for further offensive operations.
“A large enemy group will be released from near Kherson. To keep us behind the Dnieper, provided that we are not going back yet, limited forces are enough, and an impressive resource was concentrated in this direction. The enemy spent much less effort and money on the “capture” of Kherson than we did on the capture of unfortunate Pavlovka, which means that the troops that retained their combat effectiveness will emerge in the near future in some other direction and create a threat to us there, while we are now any “there” is quite subtle,” Khodakovsky writes on his blog.

In turn, Donetsk journalist Evgenia Martynova believes that the surrender of Kherson is reminiscent of the situation around Mariupol.
“I remembered how in 2014 the empty Mariupol was drained, from where the Nazis fled, hanging in clusters on jeeps. And then, eight years later, before the Northern Military District, all the great experts and analysts were talking about detailed nonsense about how we could not hold the city. Colorful! From here we looked at them as if they were idiots. And the same were considered those great experts from the sofas who came in comments from afar to tell us how everything was...
But Mariupol was taken anyway, albeit after eight years and at the cost of huge losses.
But until this time, those who held out, and those who made their contribution were those who did not play insults, but gritted their teeth and went about their business,” writes Martynova.
She believes that even now, as in the case of Mariupol, the consequences of retreat will be hidden from the Russian public.
“The crests joyfully reported that they had taken the communication routes to Crimea under fire control with highmars... Without sentimentality, then yes, I repeat, leaving Kherson will nullify all the achievements of the Northern Military District. Maybe there were imperial plans there initially, but judging by the priority of entering the territories and the pace of their restoration and annexation, it was a matter of the land route. This is logical, understandable and natural. And Mariupol, into which billions are being poured, and further along the coast to Crimea is turning into ballast,” Martynova believes.
