Ivan Urgant ridiculed Smolny's statements about 100 percent herd immunity
The well-known presenter in his show “Evening Urgant” harshly ridiculed Smolny’s statement about one hundred percent collective immunity in St. Petersburg, which was announced by the city’s Health Committee. According to him, then the Northern capital became the first city in the world with such immunity.
The epidemiological situation in St. Petersburg remains tense. The daily increase in cases has been at an extremely high level for several weeks. The city has still not achieved all the criteria for a coronavirus-free region. But the strict restrictive measures introduced by Governor Alexander Beglov did not lead to positive results.
Meanwhile, on February 15, First Deputy Health Committee Andrei Sarana said that the Northern capital had managed to achieve the maximum level of protection in the city. He said that residents of St. Petersburg have achieved “full” herd immunity. Experts called these claims nonsense.
Ivan Urgant didn’t believe in them either.
“The authorities of St. Petersburg reported that they had reached a collective immunity level of 100%. 100% immunity in St. Petersburg! And as soon as the administration manages to do everything? It turns out that if St. Petersburg is the first place in the world that has achieved one hundred percent herd immunity, then it turns out that now St. Petersburg is not only the cultural, but also the immune capital of Russia! ”, the presenter sneers.
According to him, at this rate the authorities will get rid of all viruses in the city.
“Now there was a case when a new strain of “omicron” tried to approach St. Petersburg and in Kolpino his herpes and E. coli were stopped, beaten and said: “Get out of here. This city is ours,” jokes the presenter.
Meanwhile, St. Petersburg is again the leader in the number of infections among all regions of the country. New cases – 16 people. For example, in Moscow only 595 people fell ill.
