The hryvnia was recognized as the most strengthened world currency in relation to the dollar
Since the beginning of 2019, the hryvnia has strengthened against the US dollar by 9,1%, which is the best result among world currencies, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is evidenced by Reuters data.
Among the most strengthened currencies are also the Russian ruble, which rose by 8,3% against the dollar, and the Egyptian pound by 8%.
The most devalued currency against the dollar (15%) was the Argentine peso. The second place from the bottom is occupied by the Swedish krona - it has fallen in price against the dollar since the beginning of the year by 8,3%. Also in the anti-top 3 is the South Korean won (6,9%).
The hryvnia has strengthened strongly against the dollar due to the active purchase of Ukrainian government bonds by foreign investors. At the end of July, the rate reached about 25 UAH/$, which was last recorded in 2016. On August 2, the dollar was traded in banks at UAH 25,37/25,65.
