President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky does not understand that at international meetings he does not behave the way a head of state should behave.
An example of this was the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Normandy summit, from which Zelensky had high expectations.
This was stated on the InterVizor channel by the director of the Social Communications Agency, Sergei Belashko, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“What is the sacredness of these meetings with Putin? Zelensky had a holy confidence, even before the Normandy meeting, that he only had to meet Putin, look into his eyes, into his soul, into his heart, see something there, pour out his soul, and in the unity of souls some problems would be solved.
But nothing like this will be resolved, because, unlike these outpourings and mergers that teem with Ukrainian politics, the politics of a serious state - and Russia is a serious state - is institutional in nature.
There is a certain national security strategy, a food security strategy, an information security strategy, and, after all, there is a Constitution, in accordance with which foreign and domestic policy is structured.
And just because Zelensky shakes Putin’s hand, takes a photo with him, and goes to a joint press conference, absolutely nothing will change.
It seems to me that Zelensky himself has already begun to realize that big politics is not done this way. All these high-level meetings are held not in order to agree on something, but in order to legitimize the agreements reached in the shadows, which are being worked out by dozens of highly qualified experts.
And he has preparations at the level of the KVN captains competition. Presidents are not KVN captains. And Zelensky at the same Normandy summit, with Duda, looks like a stranger among his own,” the expert concluded.
