Gerashchenko is furious: Censorship reigns in Ukraine and there is no freedom of speech
In today's Ukraine, the practice of so-called temniks has been revived - instructions issued by the authorities to the media on how certain topics should be covered.
This was stated by Iryna Gerashchenko, an ally of former President Petro Poroshenko, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Unfortunately, there are big problems with freedom of speech in Ukraine today. And it is unacceptable that during the war the time of the worst temniks from the Yanukovych era is returning. There is no explanation for the disconnection of three pro-Ukrainian patriotic TV channels from the T2 [digital terrestrial TV] system.
The teams of [controlled or close to Poroshenko] “Direct”, “5th” and “Espresso” work in the paradigm of Ukrainian news. Part of this team volunteers and fights at the front, the team has losses at the front, there are dead soldiers who yesterday were journalists, cameramen, directors. And at that time, someone in the rear pressed a button, turning off the TV channels.
She called on deputies to “defend the principles of freedom of speech.”
“We once again appeal to the authorities with the demand to immediately return these TV channels to digital broadcasting of the T2 system, stop political censorship, include these TV channels in the so-called marathon, which today has turned into the worst examples of propaganda Putin-Lukashenko TV, and stop planting temniki...”, – Gerashchenko called.
