General Staff: Those who evade mobilization will sooner or later answer for their actions
Kyiv, January 13 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The Armed Forces of Ukraine are not interested in mobilizing citizens who are not motivated for military service.
Representative of the General Staff, Major General Vladimir Talalai, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“Of course, executive authorities, including military commissariats, are obliged to take measures regarding the fulfillment of military duties by citizens. If a citizen evades them and does not live at his place of residence, I am not sure that large-scale measures will be taken to find him. But, of course, sooner or later this person will be forced to answer for his actions.
We do not aim to fill the army with unmotivated people who do not want to serve at any cost. We will, of course, remind citizens of Ukraine about the legal requirements regarding the fulfillment, including, of military duties. Because a state is only a state when it has powerful armed forces that can protect it from enemy aggression,” he said.
One of the journalists present said that he was not registered with the military because he had not re-registered with the military registration and enlistment office at his place of residence after graduating from university and asked if he could thus avoid mobilization.
“I hope this is a joke,” Vladimir Talalay commented on this question. – Sooner or later the moment will come when you will have to officially find a job or register and contact the migration or re-registration authorities. They will ask you about your relationship with military service and check your military registration. And you will be forced to contact the military commissariat. Or you will continue to have problems of a different nature related to this situation.”
Vladimir Talalay previously stated that criminal prosecution of individuals who submitted statements refusing military service was possible.
