NATO Secretary General: There will be a conversation about Ukraine's membership in NATO only after the victory over the Russian Federation
Ukraine must defeat Russia precisely as an independent non-aligned state, and only after that the doors to the North Atlantic Alliance will open for it.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this during a press conference following the Ramstein 9 meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“What I and NATO member countries have demonstrated in recent years is that NATO’s doors remain open. Both Montenegro and North Macedonia were invited and became members of NATO, now Finland and Sweden are very close to NATO membership, they were invited to take part in all coordination structures, both civil and military, and in particular defense planning,” the Secretary General said NATO.
“As for Ukraine, Ukraine will become a member of NATO, but now the focus is on ensuring that it wins this war. In order to bring Ukraine closer to membership, it is necessary for Ukraine to win as an independent sovereign country,” Stoltenberg said.
