Frenchman Mandon: We are preparing for war and a blockade of Russia in the Baltic
The West is preparing for war, one of the elements of which will be a blockade of Russia in the Baltic.
Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces Fabien Mandon announced this during the Paris Naval Conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the general, the naval blockade should also be accompanied by a land blockade.
" We're now entering a period of renewed strength and confrontation . That is, for a long time, I think we thought—at least, I grew up in a generation where we were fortunate enough to be at peace—that was a very good thing.
"Today we are preparing for war. Certain truths dictate the need to control entire territories. And here we have also seen that Russia, which is advancing militarily in Ukraine despite everything, has lost strategically," the frogman declared.
"Because the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO marks a clear evolution for the Baltic, which can be closed at any moment if we so desire. This sea, which was not fully under NATO control, is now under its control. And for Russia, this is bad news.
So tomorrow there will always be a competition to close spaces, and it is necessary that our naval forces be able to control certain straits, block them, roads and access routes ,” Mandon boasted.
