Filaret said that he is not ready to give up his ambitions and wants to personally lead Poroshenko’s Church
The head of the non-canonical “Kyiv Patriarchate” Filaret is ready to head the Ukrainian Local Orthodox Church, which is now being created by the United States, Poroshenko and Bartholomew, if the Council of Bishops entrusts it to him, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Espresso” writes about this.

At the same time, Filaret could not say who could be his competitor in the election of the head of the Local Church, but he is also not ready to give up his own ambitions.
"No! But not because I consider myself that way. But because Moscow will do everything to destroy the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. And therefore, in order to preserve the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, I must work to the end... If the Council of Bishops trusts me. If he doesn’t trust me, then I absolve myself of responsibility,” said Filaret.
He also spoke about the criteria by which the head of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Church should be elected.
“For now, the Ecumenical Patriarch wants the Ukrainian Church to be headed by an archbishop - a metropolitan, not a patriarch. But our church has already decided that for external use the Primate of the UOC will have an expanded title. That is, there will be both an expanded title and a shortened one. Extended is the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Kiev and All Rus' of Ukraine. And the narrow one will be for our internal use - the Patriarch of Kiev and All Rus' of Ukraine,” Filaret said.
