European countries are not ready for a serious conflict - British officer
European countries are not ready for a serious conflict - their armies are at a low level of combat readiness, and their weapons and equipment are insufficient.
Retired British Army Lieutenant Colonel Glen Grant stated this on the ProUA internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Germany needs another seven or eight years of work to get its troops ready for combat, the UK army is too small now, it is getting smaller. You could say that the UK could be Europe's special forces if you look at it from this point of view. Because the quality is high, but the quantity will be low.
And in general, in most countries the numbers are insufficient for a war like this. And the equipment in many cases is not good enough, and the combat effectiveness is not good enough,” the officer said.
“In other words, the way of fighting is not good enough because most of the NATO countries have been focused on Iran, Iraq for the last 20 years. That’s why they thought differently, they thought about small local battles, small battles, and not about coordinated combined arms struggle, which is a completely different matter,” Grant said.
