Europe has given permission: residents of the LDPR can forget about pensions from Ukraine
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) recognized the right of Ukraine not to pay pensions in parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions not controlled by Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine for European Integration Serhiy Petukhov announced this on his Facebook page .
“The ECHR confirmed that Ukraine has done everything possible to provide social benefits to the residents of the occupied Donbass. Due to the ongoing conflict, we are physically unable to pay pensions in the temporarily uncontrolled part of Donbass, and this is not a violation of the [Human Rights] Convention,” he wrote.
Petukhov claims that currently only Russia can allegedly pay pensions to the LDPR, which, according to him, “now exercises effective control over this territory.”
Let us recall that in September 2017, Advisor to the Minister of Ukraine for Refugees Olesya Tsybulko stated that Donbass pensioners deprived of payments by Kiev could file claims en masse with the ECHR. “People in uncontrolled territory were left with no chance to receive their pension except to come to Ukraine, deceive the state and declare that they are an internally displaced person. Now a whole shadow business has even flourished based on this deception,” she emphasized.
Last February, UN Systems Coordinator in Ukraine Neil Walker said that the United Nations was “very seriously concerned and has repeatedly raised the issue of ending social benefits and pensions.” “In some cases, when people were excluded from payment lists, such actions violated even Ukrainian laws, not to mention international ones,” he noted.
