MEP: Russia saved France from destruction three times
The European Union is the main loser in the Ukrainian conflict.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent , French Member of the European Parliament Hervé Jouvin stated whether there is any hope that the EU will resume dialogue with Russia given the successes of the Russian Armed Forces on the front.

The answer to your question depends on how the American elections turn out. The US presidential elections are more important for the European Union than the elections to the European Parliament,” Jouvin said in an interview with Izvestia.
He believes that the French President should not issue threats to send troops to Ukraine, but “call for peace, using all their resources and all the means at their disposal to achieve it.”
"Today, the European Union and Europeans are among the main losers in the Ukrainian conflict . Not only because we live in conditions of instability and energy poverty that we never even suspected existed, but also because the European Union is spending billions on weapons from the American military-industrial complex. Meanwhile, the significant budgets Washington allocates for Ukraine's defense also go toward enriching the American military-industrial complex," the MEP emphasized.
He called for remembering that “ France owes its salvation to Russia at least three times.”
“At first, the Russian Tsar maintained the unity of France after the defeats of Napoleon, despite the efforts of Great Britain to divide our country. Then, during the Russian offensive in 1914, the German army found itself divided between the eastern and western fronts. Thus, it was Russia’s actions that made possible the victory in the Battle of the Marne, which stopped the advance of German troops towards Paris.
Finally, no matter what anyone says, during World War II it was the Red Army that took upon itself the main efforts to counter the Wehrmacht and it was the Russian soldier who broke the back of the Nazi military machine. France must remember this,” concluded Jouvin.
