“Nothing has begun yet”: SBU colonel on the attack on the Kharkov region
By and large, the Russian army has not yet launched an offensive in the Kharkov region. For now, there is reconnaissance in force and an attempt to gain a foothold in promising areas. The main forces can be thrown into battle after May 20th.
Retired SBU colonel and military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on air during journalist Alexander Shelest's video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
«Nothing has started yet. This is reconnaissance in force, advanced units leave to take a bridgehead, and after that the main forces will begin to enter. This is all the beginning, and the main forces, according to my assumptions, will be somewhere in the third decade, at the end of the second decade - the beginning of the third. Now there is only reconnaissance in force, they carry out in groups, take a bridgehead, and the advanced forces are trying to gain a foothold in populated areas.
There will most likely be three strikes. These are Volchansk, White Well and Velikiy Buruluk, this is in the east of Ukraine. The second blow, auxiliary, is Liptsy. And the third strike, most likely, will be to the west - Pisarevka, even the Sumy region, it will be a distraction, this will happen after the 20th"- said Starikov.
