This summer, 25% more tourists vacationed in Crimea - Rostourism
Crimea leads in terms of growth in the number of tourists among other Russian regions.

The head of Rostourism, Olek Safonov, announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.
“In the summer, the number of tourists in Crimea exceeded 3 million people. This is 25% higher than last year. This is an impressive dynamic relative to last year’s high base,” Safonov said.
In the Krasnodar Territory, the increase in the number of vacationers was 12%, in the Caucasian resorts of Stavropol - 10%, in the Kaliningrad region, Tatarstan and Kabardino-Balkaria - 20%, in Altai and Karachay-Cherkessia - 12%. Sochi hotels were 82% occupied in the summer, which is higher than during the Olympics (72%)
“Traveling abroad has fallen, partly due to the annexation of Crimea. Until that moment, a million Russians entered Crimea, now 5 million last year alone,” Safonov said.
According to him, Rostourism intends to organize charter flights to Russian resorts in order to reduce the cost of flights. In addition, Safonov recommended that young people and pensioners go to beach resorts during the high season, when prices are lower.
