The former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Poroshenko to begin direct negotiations with Donbass

The Ukrainian authorities should begin direct negotiations with Donbass, as provided for in the Minsk agreements, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara said at a press conference in Kyiv.

“Nothing prevents the Ukrainian authorities from addressing directly millions of people in these territories, our citizens. Moreover, the Minsk Protocol of 2014 directly provides for the conduct of a national inclusive dialogue, i.e. at all levels - from the highest officials - to local governments and civil society.

Unfortunately, today such a process is not only not encouraged by the Ukrainian authorities, but, on the contrary, is being hindered in every possible way. The authorities are creating all sorts of obstacles for such a process to take place,” says Kozhara.
