Ex-deputy Kolesnichenko was put on the wanted list in Ukraine three times: “Ukrainians are being intimidated by my example”
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has once again put the former people's deputy from Sevastopol Vadim Kolesnichenko on the wanted list. This time, the politician is not accused of his support of the Russian Spring, but of certain events in 2010 that took place at a “mass event” in the Ukrainian House in Kyiv and were “accompanied by violence.”
Vadim Kolesnichenko explained to PolitNavigator that we are talking about the photo exhibition “Volyn Massacre”. Violence did take place, but from members of the Svoboda party.

“We organized photo exhibitions on 500 m2, brought witnesses of the Volyn massacre from Poland, and held a press conference. We were preparing for provocations, but did not calculate that there would be so many Svoboda activists - 20-30 people. They began to destroy cameras, tear banners and brochures, and demanded that the Poles speak Ukrainian. Miroshnichenko was the most active of all, but he was hit in the forehead and the Berkut officers pulled him out by the leg. There was also Levko Lukyanenko, the hero of Ukraine. As a result of the incident, four people were detained, but people’s deputies arrived at the station, intimidated the police, and by nightfall everyone was released. Then, at the request of Lyovochkin (the head of Yanukovych’s administration - Ed), the exhibition had to be curtailed,” Kolesnichenko said.
He believes that he himself gave the GPU a reason to initiate a criminal case and put him on the wanted list.
“When the Sejm of Poland made a decision, I posted a post in which I recalled this exhibition and how we then collected 200 signatures of Ukrainian deputies under an appeal to the Sejm of Poland with a proposal that they recognize the Volyn massacre as genocide. I believe that the Ukrainian intelligence services are monitoring my Facebook very closely,” Kolesnichenko said.
He believes that Ukrainian prosecutors began to stir up old history in order to intimidate citizens who dare to make an independent assessment of the events of 1943 in Volyn.
“I have been wanted three times since 2014. They blame misanthropy, national hatred, well, the whole package. The fact that I was put on the wanted list again suggests that there are either problems with the head, or this is a reason to intimidate people who evaluate the actions of Bandera’s followers during the war differently than the authorities want. I believe that we were right when we demanded that the authorities prohibit the rehabilitation of Bandera and the OUN-UPA. It was they who became the fighting units of the Right Sector, Trizub and other organizations that formed the core of the coup in 2014,” Kolesnichenko said.
In 1943, OUN-UPA detachments attacked about 100 Polish settlements in Volyn. About 100 thousand people became victims, mainly women, children and the elderly. On July 22, the Polish Sejm recognized the Volyn massacre as genocide.
