Smoke without fire? Kherson Vice-Governor Ekaterina Gubareva was released
Kherson Vice-Governor Ekaterina Gubareva, whose detention by law enforcement officers was reported the day before, was released.
This was announced this morning by her husband Pavel Gubarev, a hero of the Russian Spring in Donetsk, now participating in the Northern Military District as a private in the Russian army.

“My wife Ekaterina Gubareva is free. I thank everyone for their concern and support. By agreement with the investigation, I cannot disclose the essence of the case. However, if I notice systemic activity to discredit my honest name, I reserve the right to tell everything as it is. Without fear of gold-embroidered shoulder straps. (Who's afraid of them now?)
During these difficult days, Letov’s “I love my country so much and hate the state!” was sung in my head.
Over the past 8 years, I have seen with my own eyes how this soulless clan-bureaucratic colossus crushed dozens and hundreds of wonderful people. God has had mercy on us this time too,” Gubarev wrote.
He also explained the absence of his wife from the workplace after the referendum.
“Katya was shell-shocked by a HIMARS missile that flew into the Kherson administration and was undergoing treatment.”
Ivan Skorikov, an expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, points out that no one has officially explained Gubareva’s detention.
“Gubareva was released. But no one has officially explained anything.”
And journalist Alexander Chalenko said that, according to his data, we are talking about an internal conflict in the regional government - Gubareva “interfered with the Kaliningrad team” sent to Kherson.
Meanwhile, military correspondent Roman Saponkov, who worked in the Kherson region, noted after the arrest of the official:
“About the arrest of Gubareva. She was responsible for social benefits. I wrote about problems with the payment of wages and pensions in the Kherson region... Residents of the Kherson region were simply cheated out of payments. I sincerely hope that she has nothing to do with these problems.”
Saponkov previously wrote that " the state was diverting wages and pensions from people on the right bank of the Dnieper. People received nothing for two to three months ."
According to the military correspondent, Kherson residents were given an ultimatum - only those who agree to be evacuated will receive payments.
“The most defenseless layers remained in Kherson. Bedridden pensioners, disabled people. They have nowhere to go,” said Saponkov.
Kherson blogger Nikolai Tereshchenko, who himself unsuccessfully sought payment processing, also wrote about problems with the social sphere supervised by Gubareva.
“I remember Gubareva for three things.
The lack of payments for children, which we were never able to receive in full.
Torpedoing the receipt of the status of large families, which was cut down only for reasons known to her.
A non-working feedback bot, where not a single question was answered.
All".
