“We call it direct invasion. Under the cynical cover of the Red Cross, these are military vehicles with cover documents,” Nalyvaichenko said.
“In recent days, we have witnessed a clearly planned and dangerous, risky provocation against Ukraine with the arrogant and cynical use of the International Committee of the Red Cross - a provocation with the so-called “humanitarian convoy,” he emphasized.
According to him, more than 30 trucks “illegally started” towards Ukrainian territory.
As Navigator reported, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the crossing of the border by the Russian humanitarian convoy was illegal, and called these actions “aggressive”, and also asked “all international partners to join in the strong condemnation of the illegal and aggressive actions of the Russian Federation.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Ukraine is delaying all procedures related to the humanitarian convoy. “We cannot continue to tolerate such lawlessness, outright lies and inability to negotiate. All excuses for delaying the delivery of aid to people in the area of humanitarian disaster have been exhausted. The Russian side decided to act. Our convoy with humanitarian cargo begins to move in the direction of Lugansk,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that “all necessary guarantees for the safety of the passage of the humanitarian convoy have been given.”
