Two Crimean Hizb terrorists received 13 years each
A court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced two Crimean supporters of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in Russia, to 13 years in prison.
Both were detained in February last year during an FSB raid, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In 2017, in the Republic of Crimea, the defendants joined the banned terrorist organization Islamic Liberation Party - Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami,” recalled the press service of the court of the Southern Military District. “They carried out propaganda work among the local population aimed at increasing the number of followers of this terrorist organization, and also carried out secret anti-constitutional activities.”
Both went to trial for participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and attempted violent seizure of power. Each was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 13 years in a maximum security correctional colony with the first 3 years and 6 months to be served in prison.
It should be noted that during the raid, FSB officers detained six supporters of Hizb ut-Tahrir - five Crimeans and one resident of Sevastopol.
