DPR is not going to participate in the Ukrainian elections
Donetsk continues to live its own life and moves further and further away from Ukraine.

“The sensational interview with Andrei Ermak, assistant to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, where he said that local Ukrainian elections next fall will be held throughout the country, including Donbass, from Donetsk looks like complete nonsense. They have been living their own lives here for a long time, which is further and further from the current Ukrainian realities,” the publication notes.
“I don’t even understand what he’s talking about? — a source close to the ideological bloc of the DPR told the publication, assessing Ermak’s statement. – It’s not that we have any preparations for the elections, there is no alertness about this at all! There is no funding for this area, no selection of candidates, no preparation of election commissions.”
In turn, the newspaper reports that the electronic queue for a DPR passport is now booked eight months in advance.
“Without a local passport, people here cannot apply for Russian citizenship. More than three hundred thousand Russian passports have already been issued to both republics (DPR and LPR). At this rate, at the local Ukrainian elections announced by Andrey Ermak, there will be no one to vote... If these elections by some miracle take place,” MK sums up.
As PolitNavigator reported, Yermak recently stated that he expects elections to be held in the Donbas republics as early as the end of October, following the Ukrainian scenario.
The DPR has no intention of participating in the Ukrainian elections.
