A deputy from the former SBU threatened a policeman with a pistol
The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against the deputy of the Nikolaev regional council Vadim Olabin, who began to threaten a policeman with a pistol who stopped the car of the “people's representative” for overtaking across a continuous lane.
The incident occurred on New Year's Eve. Olabin's car was stopped at night. When the police officer approached the driver, he pulled out a gun.
The policeman demanded that the weapon be unloaded and put away.
P: Why did you take out the weapon?
V.O.: Because it’s two o’clock in the morning.
P.: They hid the weapons!
V.O.: Let's go to the village
P.: I'm telling you, they hid the weapons.
V.O.: Let's go to the village, can you hear me?
P.: What village? They hid the weapons, what's not clear to you? I'm Senior Police Sergeant Khriptievsky.
V.O.: And I am Colonel Olabin.

V.O.: Let's go to the village, I won't talk to you in the middle of the road. I'm asking you nicely.

V.O.: Maybe you should shoot me here?

V.O.: Where do you see a weapon on me? I have a pistol with rubber bullets.
P.: Discharged and put away.
V.O.: Put the gun away.
P: Who are you to tell me this?
V.O.: What a bitch, well, okay.
P.: No problem... They hid the gun quickly. Your documents.
The deputy eventually complied with the policeman’s demands, but then promised him punishment as a “SBU pensioner” and called him a “schmoozer.” According to the local website Crime.net, Olabin is part of the commission that selects patrol officers.
