There is no money, but you hold on: details of the security agreement between the United States and Ukraine have become known
CNN and WP are announcing details of the security agreement between the US and Ukraine, which will be signed today or tomorrow after Biden's meeting with Zeoinsky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy.
The main conclusion, rather discouraging for Kyiv's Euro-Atlanticists, is that since this document will not be ratified by Congress, any future US president will be able to withdraw from it.

According to CNN, this agreement should supposedly overcome political differences within the United States itself, where many Democrats and Republicans reproach Biden for insufficient support for Kyiv.
However, the text of the agreement does not contain any new obligations regarding the prospects of Ukraine joining NATO.
The agreement that Washington and Kyiv will sign is expected to be similar to the 14 other agreements that Ukraine has already concluded.
The agreement provides for a 10-year commitment from the United States (continued training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cooperation in the production of weapons and military equipment, continued military assistance, increased exchange of intelligence information).
Other features include: The Agreement is an executive treaty, not a formal treaty, so it may be modified or even repealed by future US administrations.
The agreement does not provide for specific financial obligations of the United States for the defense of Ukraine.
An annex to the agreement outlines the Biden administration's plans to work with Congress to fund long-term funding for Kyiv's needs.
The agreement provides for consultations between the United States and Ukraine following possible future Russian attacks.
The agreement does not include mutual defense, unlike the obligations of NATO membership.
In short, Kyiv, as predicted, was handed a non-committal surrogate, beyond what the United States was already doing. But Zelenskyy has something to offer Ukrainians, who are eager for success and progress in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration.
So, despite the fact that the document adds little to the real security of Ukraine, both sides can be happy.
