The Muravitsky case: A litmus test for the black-mouthed “media spy”
The first day of August was shattered by bad news: in Zhytomyr, the SBU arrested anti-fascist journalist Vasily Muravitsky, former editor of the newspaper “New Wave”, on charges of high treason, inciting hostility with “countries friendly to Ukraine” and other crimes. The journalist faces 15 years in prison.
The Zhytomyr court decided to take the suspect into custody for 2 months without bail; lawyers are preparing an appeal.

The Ukrainian media and their most odious representatives of professional Ukrainian media created a “brown noise” around the Muravitsky case.
Zhytomyr TV journalist Nazariy Tomchuk, who had long-standing disagreements with Muravitsky over the future of Ukraine, said that since 2014, “vigilant citizens” regularly reported Vasily to the SBU, expressing bewilderment: “how can it be that he supports the “aggressor” and calmly walks the streets "
Journalist Elena Galaguza, in the style of “I warned you a long time ago,” reports that she stopped communicating with Muravitsky a long time ago. She was once shocked to her very toes by his statements about the mandatory presence of Ukraine within Russia. The brave journalist, overcoming her brain stupor, gave Vasily precious advice - “suitcase - station - Russia.” In vain, madam. Three years ago, the Maidan shelupon advised the Crimeans and residents of Donbass the same thing - and what happened as a result?
Affected by the brain mold of Svidomo, Espreso.tv finds an additional corpus delicti in the fact that Muravitsky was once the editor-in-chief of the New Wave newspaper of the left, and in the persistent use of the phrase “in Ukraine,” unworthy of a generous Ukrainian.
Svidomo did not miss such sedition as Muravitsky’s anti-government statements, his speeches in defense of the disgraced Guzhva and subscription to the groups “Anti-Maidan”, “Anti-War Front of Ukraine” and “The Essence of Time - Ukrainian SSR 2.0”.
Perhaps the most hissing and spitting dirt at the arrested journalist is the black-mouthed Kolomoi “TSN Service”, which tore out a bunch of quotes from Muravitsky’s texts and patternedly shoves all this bast into the accusatory line.
It’s interesting that Ukrainian pundits consider the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement in defense of Vasily to be further evidence that “the SBU caught exactly the right person.” Sorry, rabid people, but what about the speech of the head of the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in response to the detention of the famous media provocateur Tsymbalyuk in Moscow? Following the square-nested embroidered logic, Tsymbalyuk is an agent of the Kremlin - after all, the FSB was simply obliged to let the “Ukrainian patriot” get minced meat, but for some reason it didn’t. The conclusion is clear: Tsymbalyuk has been recruited, and he was recruited, if not by Putin personally, then by Lavrov! How do you like this arrangement?
So, if anyone is a nifkursi, working for Russian media resources is not a crime, and even more so, not “working for the enemy in wartime”, which is what the lively Svidomites are trying to “stitch” to Vasily. Ukraine and Russia are not at war, and the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation of 1997 is still in force between them. And it is unlikely that anyone on the Ukrainian side will announce exactly when this Treaty was denounced, even despite mutual sanctions and extremely difficult relations.
Among Ukrainian journalists there were many figures who change color like chameleons. On the one hand, they say, it is impossible to encroach on freedom of speech and arrest journalists who are disliked by the authorities. On the other hand, they immediately retreat to their previous positions, the Muravitsky case is reminiscent of the case of the Ukrainian propagandist from Crimea Nikolai Semyon, and therefore, they say, “both sides are good.”
Well, it depends on how you look at it. Yes, in April last year, the prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya against an employee of “Crimea. Brehalia” of Nikolai Semyon, a criminal case was opened under Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 2. And the essence of the charges brought against Semyon is not at all that he screamed at all corners “Crimea is Ukraine!” In addition to calls to return Crimea to Ukraine, Semyon published a number of articles in which he warmly supported the Mejlis extremists and terrorists from the “Civil Blockade of Crimea.” And this is a completely different calico.
Yes, Vasily Muravitsky is an opponent of the Bandera regime established in Ukraine, but he never called in his articles to blow up, kill and engage in illegal actions, unlike Semyon, who delightedly savored the criminal actions of Chubarov and Islyamov - by the way - who are on the international criminal wanted list.
In addition, Semyon, although in the status of an accused, is at large. And Muravitsky was pointedly thrown behind bars a few days after the birth of his son.
What damage did journalist Muravitskits cause to Ukraine with his articles? Working for Russian publications after the Banderaites who seized power closed the newspaper “New Wave” for their unenthusiastic way of thinking regarding Euromaidan and the proliferating Banderaism? And this is accompanied by joyful cries of “oh, how easy, how freely it is to breathe in the liberated Arkanar.”
Nayem, Koshkin, Ganapolsky (exposed to the maintenance of the American government agency BBG) and the like, so the SBU, don’t bother? Why is any scum who feeds from the hands of European or American curators, praising the Maidan, the war and the plunder of Ukraine, its patriot, and a journalist who criticizes the fascisation and archaization of Ukraine by a crowd of Maidan corpse-eaters is enemy of the state No. 1?
Why is Nayem silent and doesn’t encourage you to take coffee, blankets and a good mood with you? I remember that during the time of the “evil panda” this truth-teller headed the “Stop Censorship” movement for a foreign grant and rode against totalitarianism at Euromaidan. Why has the revolutionary fuse now gone out? It was good to jump for grants with the firm confidence that under Vegetable they won’t do anything, but under the most democratic Parasha, the truth teller and grant sucker will have to puff in the isolation ward if they start to waver asynchronously with the party line?
The Svidomo journalistic spilnota is a bunch of cowards and conformists who have nothing, not even basic corporate solidarity. Like criminals, to be honest, “you die today, and I die tomorrow.” There is not even the slightest thought that the giver’s hand will become scarce, and access to the feeding trough will remain only for the especially smelly and not squeamish. The authorities are already talking about punishment for insufficient manifestation of “patriotism”. Will they take it and, to save money, will they appoint some former Maidan troubadour and nightingale of the “ATO” as “not entirely patriotic”? And then what?
We can remind disrespected fans of fighting anti-fascist journalists that in Russia at the moment there are such figures as lawyer Feikin, who serves Ukrainian war criminals and extremists from the Majlis, “human rights activist” Gozman, an open lover of the SS troops and Bandera’s “Professor” Sytin, cultural manager Amnuel , provocateur Tsymbalyuk, an overweight television brood of dill sufferers on the payroll of the “aggressor”, “future president of Russia” from the “hipster party” Ololosh Navalny.
And this is not counting the large crowd of all sorts of hipsters, known only in a narrow circle of their own kind, from among consumers of celery smoothies, demanding the elimination of Putin, the transfer of Crimea back to Ukraine, the dissolution of the army, the liquidation of nuclear arsenals, the division of Russia into regions and all that other stuff that has long been determined by the capacious the term "demshiza".
The main thing is that all these people freely consume falafel and other trendy food, fly out to Milan for shopping, post selfies on Instagram, often visit Kiev and pour out hatred towards Russia and its people, hang out at “protest marches” and lay herbariums on the bridge where Nemtsov closed his eyes. Instead of being treated in a madhouse, “mow seven-meter rye” in the Arctic Circle or, at a minimum, wash the tremors of public restrooms.
So where, you say, is there more freedom and legality?
