The degradation of Ukraine cannot be stopped even after a change of government
The constant departure of able-bodied Ukrainians abroad and the destruction of industry will lead to irreversible socio-political degradation of the country.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov said this on the air of the online studio “CapitalTV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Unfortunately, I must state that the processes of social and political degradation that we have been experiencing for a good decade, in many ways, if not irreversible, then already have some new qualitative features, and we will have to reckon with this even after the change authorities,” he said.
According to the expert, the deindustrialization of the country and the massive departure of qualified specialists abroad played a great role in this process.
“In my opinion, the state of the national economic model has reached a certain limit. Deindustrialization has become a fact, and this is not just some abstract working and non-working factories, it is the loss of a whole series of technological structures that were associated with professional skills, traditions of scientific schools, technological developments, and engineering. This is a change in the atmosphere, situation and infrastructure of life in a number of regions and cities that at one time were part of industrial Ukraine.
Archaization and a change in demographic composition are taking place. The demographic crisis that accompanies this process is also twofold; on the one hand, we already belong to the largest group of nations that are aging, but our demographic crisis is complemented by a huge, already irrevocable, wave of migrants - people of active age with professions in demand on the market.
In my opinion, in Ukraine the sphere of higher education “for export” is already being cultivated as an industry,” summed up Dmitry Dzhangirov.
