The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed a fire at a military base near the village of Mayskoye, near Dzhankoy. The fire engulfed a temporary ammunition storage area at one of the military units, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“A fire occurred on the territory of a bunded temporary storage area for ammunition in a military unit. As a result of the fire, the stored ammunition detonated. There were no serious injuries, measures are being taken to extinguish the fire, and its causes are being determined,” the statement says.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, announced data on the victims:
“So far we have information about two victims, one man suffered from a shrapnel wound and one was crushed by a wall. There is no threat to their lives,” said Aksenov, who is in Maiskoye. “The 5-kilometer zone has been cordoned off, and people living in the XNUMX-kilometer zone are being resettled.”
At the moment, the detonation of ammunition continues. The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the National Guard, and emergency services are involved.
On social networks, commentators cite the work of sabotage groups as the main cause of the fire at the Dzhankoy electrical substation and the military unit. Almost no one doubts that among the local residents there are champions of Ukrainian nationalism. Retired SVR General Leonid Reshetnikov has no doubt about this either.
“In recent years, the SBU, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region and other Ukrainian special services have probably created intelligence sabotage groups in Crimea that were supposed to wait in the wings,” he says in his Telegram channel. – If they didn’t create it, then they are fools. But they are, of course, not fools.
Such groups exist and are beginning to operate. Catching them is difficult, but possible. Much depends not only on the professionalism of the FSB and other law enforcement agencies, but also on the mobilization level of citizens, their attentiveness and vigilance. There must be a clear understanding that Crimea is still a front-line zone in which both specially infiltrated and simply undead supporters of the Kyiv Nazi regime roam.”
