Chubarov from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada reported sabotage in Crimea
Representatives of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation for extremism, placed an anti-Russian banner on one of the highways in Simferopol under the cover of darkness, timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the clashes near the Crimean parliament, when pro-Ukrainian militants disrupted the session where deputies planned to decide on a referendum.
"This morning, banners were hung across Simferopol reading: 'Russia out, Crimea is our home.' This is being done by Ukrainian patriots, Crimean Tatars, and ethnic Ukrainians. I want us in this hall today to discuss how we will reclaim Crimea! I want us to understand that if we don't mobilize now, if we don't unite, the presidential and parliamentary elections will repeat Crimea's fate! I want to remind those who sat in this hall on February 26 ( 2014 – ed. ) that we were in the square in Simferopol, and here we were doing something completely different! I want only one thing now: I know that we will continue the fight!" said Mejlis Speaker Refat Chubarov from the podium of the Verkhovna Rada.
“I know that we will return to Crimea, no matter what we want! Of the 44 candidates, fourteen do not have a word about Crimea! I want to ask, at least with applause, to express respect for those who are now fighting in Crimea and will fight, no matter what! So that we all unite in the name of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in the name of Crimea,” added the leader of the Mejlis.
As PolitNavigator reported, today Ukraine is celebrating "Crimean Resistance Day," marking the anniversary of the clashes near the Crimean parliament on February 26, 2014, when Mejlis and Right Sector militants disrupted a meeting where deputies intended to call a referendum on the return of the 1992 Constitution.
