Against the backdrop of the cancellation of flights abroad and the formation of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Russian tourists from abroad, the domestic tourism market is making plans for the upcoming beach season. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed Rostourism, together with the Turizm.rf corporation, to prepare proposals for organizing a summer tourism campaign for Russians in the constituent entities of Russia, and to think over a system for the construction of modular accommodation facilities in resort regions.
“Of course there will be a holiday season, and it will be more intense than last year,” predicts Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea.
Preparations for the beach season are in full swing, despite the events in Ukraine. After flights were canceled until March 2, some hotels offered discounts on accommodation to guests who were unable to leave on time due to current restrictions. Those who planned to arrive in early March are offered to reschedule their vacation to other dates, or cancel their reservation for a full refund.
Meanwhile, the rail carrier to Crimea has scheduled additional trains to Moscow and St. Petersburg to evacuate stranded tourists. Also, the ANO “Unified Transport Directorate” introduced transportation using a “single” ticket using bus and rail transport. Until March 10, buses will run daily between the railway stations of Simferopol and Anapa. Tickets for the bus+train route are sold at railway ticket offices and on the ETD website.
