Czech MP: The difficult economic situation in Ukraine is the result of EU intervention

The economic situation in Ukraine is comparable to the years of World War II, economist and member of the Czech Parliament Katerina Konečná from the Communist Party said at a seminar of the left forces of the Czech Republic.

"Today, after the EU's intervention in Ukraine, the country's economic situation is worse than it was during World War II. This is the result of measures the European Union has been very deliberately pushing for, implementing since 2008. The goal of this activity is to ensure that Brussels makes minimal efforts to reform Ukraine's economy and gets away with it when one of the world's largest economies collapses," the MP was quoted as saying by Parlamentni Listy.

“The European Commission mainly serves large corporations and this must stop. If you can’t change the EU, then it’s better for it to die,” added the Czech communist.
