Chaly believes that Putin has similar views on the development of the Russian Federation in general and Sevastopol in particular.
The head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Russian parliamentarians in St. Petersburg, expressed thoughts that “correspond to the regional rehash” of Sevastopol, only in a broader sense. In Russia, it is necessary to strengthen the role of regional parliaments and, no matter what, set strategic goals.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Alexey Chaly stated this at a briefing.
According to him, all the most interesting things at the meeting with the president of the country remained behind the scenes. At least for him. Thus, two of Putin’s thoughts, according to Chaly, which were not included in the news feeds of news agencies, are fully consistent with the position that he defends - only at the regional level.
“The first is that the country is strategically moving towards strengthening the role of parliaments, as evidenced, in particular, by the adoption of the law on parliamentary control last year. I believe that this is a normal trend and it will develop in this direction. And secondly, the thought is close to my heart and it’s nice that it came from the president’s lips. Close to the text it will be something like this - of course, it is very important to deal with current affairs, we will not escape them anywhere, but at the same time, and especially in times of crisis, we must not forget that we must look for new opportunities. Those. formulate strategic long-term goals for yourself at such a time and consistently pursue them. As you understand, this is exactly the idea that is close to me. It fully corresponds to our regional rehash,” said Alexey Chaly.
