Kolomoisky's former sanatorium in Crimea announced a super promotion
A weekend in one of the most beautiful places on the southern coast of Crimea for 3800 rubles per person with meals for two days (children under 5 are free) – this is the promotion announced by the Foros sanatorium , once controlled by Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
The Soviet-built boarding house, which was pretty worn out in Ukrainian times, was nationalized after the Russian Spring, and in 2016 it was sold to the Federation of Trade Unions of Tatarstan, which began the reconstruction of Foros.
The main attraction of the sanatorium is a huge park with pine and juniper trees by the sea, founded at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the hotel underwent a modern renovation of the main building and rooms - the restoration lasted about two years and was carried out at a high level.
However, visitors should note that renovation work is still ongoing - the embankment is covered in scaffolding, the swimming pool and gym have not been restored (the workers there drill even in the dark, so it is better not to choose rooms with a sea view due to the noise), in the old mansion of the former owner Restoration of the estate is ongoing, part of the park has been dug up to lay communications.
The situation with the organization of evening leisure in Foros is also unimportant - the sports and children's playground closes at 19:00, there is no alcohol in the only working lobby bar, and most of the park is not lit in the evening.
Judging by the advertising brochures, the new owners from Tatarstan have grandiose plans to restore the sanatorium - given the length of the beaches, the huge park area and the good level of repair, the restored Foros will be no worse than the Turkish “fives” like the Rixos chain hotels.
However, for now, until the completion of the repair work, the usual Foros price tag looks too high, although the promotional offer is quite satisfactory in terms of price/quality ratio.
