Kyiv police accountants caught stealing 5 million hryvnia for police bonuses
The Kyiv prosecutor's office submitted to the court an indictment in criminal proceedings against five financiers of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv, accused of embezzling six million UAH, intended to pay bonuses to the capital's police officers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

As established by the pre-trial investigation, an organized group, which included officials from the financial support and accounting department of the capital police, the chairman of the trade union organization, the commander of the special police regiment of the Kiev police and his deputy, had been operating since the creation of the new police - since November 2015.
Having access to information about the balance of funds in the cash register of the capital police, the attackers prepared lists and payslips for bonuses for employees of one of the special police regiments of the capital police.
Afterwards, the attackers gave the regiment employees half of the accrued bonuses, and appropriated the rest of the money, distributing it among themselves.
According to the sanction of the article, they face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years. To date, all persons involved in criminal proceedings have been suspended from official duties.
